Michael Warren is owner and President of AMJ, Inc. of Gainesville. A graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with B.S. and Master's degrees in aeronautical and aerospace engineering, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, he was an electrical engineering professor at the University of Florida in the late 1970s prior to pursuing real estate.
Mr. Warren started an engineering company, Systems Dynamics, Inc., and followed that with AMJ in 1977. He developed some of the finest residential communities in the Gainesville area and earned a reputation as one of the area's outstanding builders of apartments, townhomes, condominiums, and commercial buildings, including a retail center and two condominium projects, one with higher-end homes.
Mr. Warren served on the board of Gainesville State Bank from 1992 to 1997, when he negotiated its sale to Compass Bank. He was a founding director of Florida Citizens Bank in 1997 and continues to serve in that capacity and as chair of its loan committee to present.
